Room 507, Tuesday night
Jan. 31st, 2006 10:47 pmNadia bounced a left over bouncy ball against the wall. And pretended she wasn't staring at her open door or at the phone.
She was supposed to go find Furball, tonight.
She had music playing. Lucas hadn't let her take home the CD she stole, but he had given her a mix he kept around "for educational purposes". All weird indy rock, all the time. Currently it was some nasal sounding guy pretending to be a cat.
Not so much for the cheering her up, but it was kinda cute.
She eyed her brownies. She was being careful; she knew she hadn't had any in long enough that it would hit her damn hard.
But, ooo, it would be so good.
She looked at the phone. She looked at the door. She looked at the clock. She looked at the brownies.
Screw it.
. . .
Which was how she ended up, an hour later, upside-down on the couch, giggling insanely at Bitterwoman on the TV while listening to the Postal Service.
They will see us waving from such great heights,
Come down now, they'll say
But everything looks perfect from far away,
Come down now . . . .

"Nadia?"

She performed an odd, half-hearted roll onto her side. "Can we go get my cat now?"

Date: 2006-02-01 04:32 am (UTC)Walter flopped down on the couch next to her. "Alfred's going to hit me again if I don't get some sleep, but I could take a nap and come get you to look for Furball. This stuff doesn't last forever, does it?"
