I am the passenger

Yeah. So. My internet's not working. Currently I'm piggy-backed onto another network in my apartment building (the only one that's not secured), but I have no idea how long that will last (as long as I can possibly get it to). There's a possibility, according to the cable people, that my internet will magically reappear, say around 5 pm or so, but apparently my modem is "completely offline" and they're going to send someone out to find out why on Monday afternoon, so my weekend availability might just be shot to hell.

So if I vanish suddenly and don't return? That's why. Of course, if I do do that, and you're one of the folks who has my number, I'd probably dearly love and appreciate a phone call or text message to keep me sane. . . .

ETA So it seems there was an outage in my area. The modem is back online, and after a conversation with a very nice service rep, so am I. (there was some power cycling that had to happen). It may not last, but hopefully things are fixed.

Apologies for not being online, like, at all today and not much this weekend. Spending time with the visiting folks had me afk more than I anticipated. Especially apologies to grand_fallguy and the folks who were up for Yang interaction; the timing on that little plot just essentially sucked.

Massive apologies to those I was trying to do scenes with last night. The cable at our house randomly went out (in the middle of me attempting to ping, goddammit), and it has yet to return. So I'm currently taking advantage of the hospitality of the lovely V-mun (again) in order to get in my mad 'net fix.

As I don't currently have access to any sort of tech support number for this issue (it's a bit of a story, I won't go into that here), I have no idea why the cable has been funky and going in and out the last few days, or any ETA on when it will be fixed. So if I suddenly vanish? You know why.

Yep, another one of those posts. I've talked to some folks about this already, but the long and short of it is this:

I got laid off from my job today. I had very little warning and got seriously pissed off and realized I'm in need of a few days to decompress. As such, I will be leaving town Tuesday night/Wednesday morning and will be generally without internet access until probably sometime Friday evening.

Artie's workshop will be posted, but interaction with the Strongest Man . . . in the World himself will be severely limited. (read: nonexistant, most likely). Lucas will be skipping town to go dress shopping to go help with some sort of Deb crisis, I'm sure.

I'm not certain what I'll be doing with Nadia just yet, but it's unlikely that it will involve her turning into any kind of small furry animal. Suggestions for alternate routes to take for her are welcome.

So. I have to go to PA tomorrow on business. My second business trip ever, go me. *unenthusiastically waves flag* Woo.

What this means is: sometime around 2 pm I will be going AFK so I can go buy a bday present for my sister, pick up the company rental, go home, do laundry, pack, go celebrate sister's bday with family, then drive for three hours. Fortunately, the hotel has free high speed internet, so I'll be online tonight.

Unfortunately, the company I'll be at all day tomorrow has LJ blocked totally and completely (even from responding to comments via the email form), so I will not be online at all tomorrow until after 8 pm EST or so when I get HOME from PA.

So, yeah. Gimme writing prompts, because I'm going to have 8 hours of doing a whole lot of nothing tomorrow.

Thursday should resume my regularly scheduled FH addiction.
