Room 502/4/6, Saturday night

When Nadia got back to her room after putting everything away and getting checked out in the clinic, she was still wiggling her fingers around and occasionally feeling her wrist through the ace bandage to reassure herself that it was, in fact, still there. She had bruises on her neck, was back to wearing the damned shoulder brace, and was dingy from the fight, but all she really cared about was that Bel was back and so was her hand.

She flopped onto her bed and wished Walter was back.

"Right. That's because it's me. I made him go away by being stupid and going off to do something with my friend instead of inviting him to come along or waiting for him to get home first, or something. And now I don't know if he's coming back or if he'll even want to see me when he does and I don't want that to happen."

"I wouldn't be so quick to blame yourself," Alphonse said. "It's entirely possible he doesn't mind at all and there's probably something he wanted to do."

Or so that's what he hoped, anyway.

Nadia shook her head. "Then why hasn't he called? Or answered his phone? I've called him but I always have to leave voicemails and I even let him know we were going to go fight things and he didn't answer or call back. He's ignoring me."

"And everyone else who's tried calling him?" Alphonse added, trying to stay optimistic.

Nadia shrugged. "I don't know if anyone else did."

"Then you can't say he's only been ignoring you."

"I can feel it, Al. He's mad at me. And instead of talking it out like a real person, he's gone stalking off and didn't even tell anyone where and for all I know he's going to get himself killed and he'll die mad at me."

"... I don't think he'll go that far, Nadia," Alphonse said. "It'll be fine. He might have even wanted some time to himself."

"Why do you think I haven't gone looking for him? But he's mad. I know he is. And I just wish he was here."

Alphonse sighed, making a slight face. Well, he tried, at least.

Nadia wiggled her fingers and moped.

Which brought Alphonse back to a statement he didn't really put much thought into until now.

"So what was that about your hand getting cut off?" he inquired, a bit skeptically, because her hand was clearly there, now.

Nadia shuddered. "One of the tongue things had my wrist and wouldn't let go so Aziraphale went to cut it off and he cut my whole hand off. But he put it back on when we got back."

And there went the headtilt, along with raised eyebrows. "That... doesn't sound pleasant."

"It reeeeeaaaaaally sucked. I don't ever want to see my arm all stumpy ever again."
