Room 507, Monday morning

Nadia woke up with a slight headache, but otherwise no ill effects from the acorn to the head she'd gotten last night at the radio station.

And the fact that there was a warm someone next to her who didn't, at first bleary glance, seem to be all that glam definitely helped her not mind the headache one bit.

Didn't mean she was in any kind of rush to get out of bed, though. It was warm and comfy here.

Walter was in less than no rush to wake up. He knew he wasn't alone in whatever bed he was in, he was 99% certain that the someone he was in bed with was someone he was "allowed" to be in bed with, and he was inexplicably quite tired.

So maybe he pulled the someone a little closer and made a contented sleepy noise, but he wasn't waking up and that was that.

Nadia was fine with this. Well. For a little while, at least. Then she got bored.

And this guy was the right height to be Walter. His hair was right. So, she decided, odds were good that he was Walter, again.

Commence Operation Kiss Walter Awake.

Ooh, wakeup kisses. Very distinctly Nadia wakeup kisses. This was the life.

Brain had not caught up to the weekend yet, but he was vaguely thinking that he should tell her about the bizarre dream he'd had. It had had a couple of very good parts, after all.

The scars were back, which made Nadia inordinately happy. She made the decision to kiss each and every one of them that she could reach without moving too much.

That wasn't going to do anything to get Walter out of bed anytime in the foreseeable future. Remembering that he had a first period class might. Eventually.

"Mmmorning."

"Welcome back," she murmured back, smiling against his skin.

It hadn't been a dream?

Walter's previously heavy-lidded eyes snapped open. His fingernails were painted? Gold? Who had he thought he was?

"Is my hair still... whatever it was I did to it?" He put a hand in his hair, but it seemed alright.

Nadia sat up slightly to look at his hair. "I think you mostly wore wigs. It looks okay." She propped her chin on her hands on his chest. "For the record, I prefer you not-wigged."

Ohhhh... shit.

Well... he'd obviously not been the only one affected, if his memories of Belthazor and radio were any indicators.

"I prefer me not-wigged, too. And without makeup." Oh, but he owed her in a big way. "You deserve an award for patience for not malleting me this weekend."

"You would have done the same for me. I'm almost sad I didn't get to leash you, though. Oh! I have pictures, wanna see?"

Walter was torn between finding a desk for some proper headdesking and laughing because Fandom had struck again.

And Nadia had photographic evidence.

"If I remember radio right, Setsuna beat you to it with someone named Josh."

Wait a minute... he remembered when she took those photos. He wasn't sure if he remembered just how far she went with the picture taking.

"Yes, I think I should see the pictures. I should know just what blackmail material you have on me."

"Relax. There's at least as many goofy pictures of me." Still, Nadia shifted to grab her digital camera off the floor and held it out to him. "When did you have time to listen to the radio?"

She might be missing an eensy bit of the night before, thanks to that acorn to the head.

Walter took the camera and gave Nadia a look that included checking her pupils. "You don't remember that we were on the radio last night?"

Nadia thought for a moment, giving Walter a look right back. "Nooooooo . . . wait. Sort of. Part of it."

"I don't know why that squirrel hit you with an acorn. How are you feeling?"

"A squirrel hit me with an acorn?!" Nadia reached up to rub the back of her head, where, sure enough, there was a small lump. "I have a little bit of a headache, but that's it. Are you telling me I can't remember half of last night because a squirrel hit me with an acorn?"

"It seems so. Unless it's the acorn and the rum." Walter leaned forward to kiss her forehead before turning his attention to the camera.

Oh, dear God....

Those pictures had best never end up in Arthur's hands.

"I don't have a hangover," Nadia pointed out. "Couldn't have been that much rum." She then proceeded to pout and grumble about squirrels.

Walter set the camera aside to do what he could to alleviate the pouting and grumbling. He's generous like that.

Nadia decided to allow herself to be suitably distracted. After a few moments, she couldn't help but ask "What was it like?"

Walter lay back and looked pensively at the ceiling while he considered the question.

"It's like... remembering someone else's memories. I remember what he was thinking and what he did, but it still wasn't me. But not like being possessed," he hastened to add. "More like being gremlin-bitten, I suppose. If it weren't for the pictures, I'd think that was what happened, but gremlins don't actually change your body."

So, was it cheating if Nadia had sex with Brian while Walter was "out" for the weekend?

For expedience sake, and because Walter at least got to remember the activity, he was going to say no. It's not like she'd snogged Steerpike, after all.

She wasn't going to bring that up, though. "Well, you certainly seemed pretty sure of yourself. I would have had a much easier time if you'd have been willing to hand over those rings, though. I was afraid you'd slit your own throat while trying to gesture glamly."

"And now I know what glam is, which I didn't on Friday." In fact, Walter knew quite a bit about the music scene of the early 1970s. At least for Brian's world.

"If it's any consolation, you seemed to think you were super-hot. No confidence issues in that guy."

Walter grinned over at her. "I am super-hot." No confidence issues in this guy as far as that goes. "The scars make me dashing. But from what he was thinking and remembering, if he's a real person, in his world, he really is a star."
