OOC: Fandom Teacher appreciation
Dec. 24th, 2006 01:54 amHi everybody!
A random fact that many of you probably do not know about me is that I am a trained and certified teacher in RL (though not currently employed as one).
As such, I happen to know that teaching is one of the hardest things to do well. It just is. Planning and organizing lessons for students takes hours of work, and can be very frustrating when it doesn't go well.
That said, playing a teacher in an online RPG is possibly even harder. You're not there face to face to push students into being active, and the various time zones can be a big old headache when it comes to organizing.
As such, I would like to give a shout out to all the people who play or have played teachers in the game. You're all wonderful, and your classes are fun, and you've shouldered a very difficult, but vital role in this game.
Here's to you, teachers! And happy holidays!

Date: 2006-12-24 05:37 pm (UTC)There's a reason why Tick is fairly quiet now. Actually, there's a reason why there are so few faculty members period remaining from this time a year ago. It's tough. So kudos to you, fake teachers! And thank you! You do good work!
