Nadia was attempting to curl her hair, put on mascara, adjust the skirt of her dress, and feed Furrball all at once.

Walter showed up at the appointed time whatever that might be and knocked. "It's your devastatingly handsome date."

"I have a devastatingly handsome date?" Nadia tripped over her shoes,but quickly recovered herself and went to get the door. "I do! Lucky me!"

"Quite." Walter smiled appreciatively at his own exotically beautiful date. "Do you need a few more minutes?"

"I'm just about ready." She added a few spritzes of homemade spray gel to her hair, gave her skirt one last smoothing, then stepped back over to him. "Okay. Let's go be the hottest people there."

"One more thing," Walter said, pulling a small box (http://pics.livejournal.com/walter_n_wires/pic/001cq9c3) from his coat pocket and holding it out to her. "Instead of a corsage."

Nadia raised her eyebrows, then opened the box. "Oh. Wow."

She looked up at Walter with another bright smile. "They're tiny little handcuffs and things!"

Walter took the bracelet and held it up for her to put out a wrist. "There's a heart on there, too. Just in case you think I'm being too much of a guy in my charm choices."

Nadia held out her hand, tilting her head to admire it. "I saw that. It's a good mix."
