The roof, Sunday around noon

Nadia had slept in. After her weird encounter with Angelo, who was apparently being manhunted by the mountie, as well as Parker and Bridge, then trying to explain the whole thing to Jamie and somehow making Sakurazaki more depressed, it had been awhile before she'd managed to get to sleep.

Now, she was up on the roof, enjoying another absolutely gorgeous day as she fiddled about obsessively tuning her guitar, and wondering why she had Brazilian jazz stuck in her head.

Walter stopped at the door while his eyes adjusted to the sun. The sound of guitar tuning might have been Blair's further attempts at guitar playing and he wasn't sure he could take another serenade so soon after the first.

Nadia didn't notice Walter at first, just continued on from her tuning to lightly playing the song in her head and singing softly in Portuguese.

Definitely not Blair. Walter walked out onto the roof, scraping his foot over the surface to announce his presence rather than interrupt her.

Nadia looked up at the sound and smiled. "Oi. Manage to have an ordinary weekend?"

"I thought I was myself all day yesterday," Walter announced with the air of one discussing a personal victory. "Even if detention was switching places with Conner. I still thought I was myself."

He sat down next to her and pulled out a cigarette. "You?"

"I did, too. But I got an . . . unexpected visitor last night."

"Who?" Walter stopped with his cigarette halfway to his mouth. "Bad or good?"

"This guy named Angelo. He didn't do anything bad, but he was kind of creepy. Came out of the ducts, messed with my guitar, acted crazy, then ran off when the mountie came to ask him some questions."

"He's lucky you didn't mallet him," Walter said, looking grim. "We need to fix your duct grill if he was able to come through it into your room. What sort of crazy?"

Cally wandered up to the roof, her orange jumpsuit on and a toolbelt around her waist.

She was determined to actually do something with the stupid Viper today.

"You know," Nadia said absently as she fiddled with the tuning of the E string. "Orange is a good color on you."

"Given how long I'm gonna be stuck in one of these of my own? I better," Cally said, pulling herself underneath the Viper belly.

Nadia idly started plucking a tune . . . that tune, the one which would not leave her head this morning . . . and watched Cally set to work.

"Did you get your application done?"

"Mailed it off already," Cally said. "So I guess it's all official-like and stuff." She yanked open an access panel with a grunt.

"At least you don't have to leave soon."

"I'm not even eighteen yet," Cally said, reaching into the mechanical guts of the Viper. "They can't get me 'til then."

"Lucky you. So what are you doing on that thing today?"

"Hey! How'd it go, last night?" Did she have to kill one of them?

"Things were spilled, the table was flipped over, other things caught on fire, the sprinklers went off and we got wet." Pippi said.

Nadia grinned back. "Yay! Are you going to go out again?"
