Room 507, Monday morning

Nadia was awake lying against Walter, and actually had been for some time, though she was doing her best not to show it. Mostly because focusing on her breathing was almost distracting enough to keep her from thinking about things she really didn't want to think about; things that her dreams last night had brought right back up to the front of her mind.

So she stayed still and just breathed and hoped Walter wouldn't notice she was awake, because then she'd probably have to talk about it.

She'd never realized she was miss not being able to speak.

Walter wouldn't be able to say just when he realized that they were both awake, or why, but he did and they were.

"Good morning."

"Morning."

Walter stretched lazily and gathered her closer for a kiss. "At least we woke up with our voices."

"Mmhm." She was perfectly happy to kiss him. That would at least keep them distracted.

Kissing was a very nice way to wake, but Walter eventually glanced around for a clock. "You have a morning workshop?"

Nadia shook her head and rolled onto her back. "Afternoon, with Jarod. You?"

"Afternoon with Lucas." He rolled toward her and propped his head up on his hand. "So we have time to be lazy."

Nadia smiled, glad for a distraction. She knew she'd have to talk about things eventually, but it could wait a little bit longer, at least.

"I like being lazy." She curled up against him again. "How is Lucas's workshop?"

There were many worse ways to spend the morning, and Walter was pleased to hold her and think about safe subject. "Alright, I suppose. We tried different instruments last session and talked about why people make music. How's Jarod's?"

Nadia smiled. "Ridiculously awful. He hasn't got the least idea what he's talking about in there."

"And this would be the lying class that gave you the four letter label?" Walter asked and poked her gently in the ribs.

"No, no, we got those in Alfred's class, don't you remember?"

"Ah, yes, that was right before the monkey butlers served us tea, yes?"

Nadia looked at him very seriously. "I have no idea what you're talking about. Those were apes. Not monkeys."

Walter nodded, not cracking a smile. Yet. "How careless of me to forget that detail. It's no wonder they served me Earl Grey rather than darjeeling as I requested."

"One can never trust and ape butler."

"It's true. They're always nicking the bananas when your back is turned."

"And getting hair on the biscuits."

"I suggest you talk to Alfred about it in our next class."

"Well, only if he hasn't noticed the problem himself. We have to at least give him a chance, or he'll never learn."

"Perhaps he can send them to help Jarod, since he's so hopeless."

"I'm sure Jarod will appreciate that."

"And then you can have hairy tea in class."

"I'll save it for you, since I prefer coffee."

Walter sighed dramatically. "Yes. I suppose being so close to where coffee is grown will do that to you."
