From Isabel and Pippi (apparently Veronica knows): This has happened before, people thought it was witches. Creature causing it was bound to the earth. Maybe this is what the crystal ball vision was about? Could be a hint on how to find the spell to bind it.

Piper knows a spell to banish ghosts, but it has to be thrown on the ghost's grave. Maybe Sam and Dean can help find it?
