From the room could be heard rather a bit of cursing in several different languages, and occasional thumping.

Some might assume that this was from the poor girl!boy who was attempting to learn to dance in heels. Actually, it was coming from the frustrated boy!girl, though it might not be immediately clear why.

Unless one listens more closely, then one might pick out a frustrated, male, accented voice crying out "Cufflinks! Dammit!" in between Latin American curses.

"Let me get that." Walter waved a hand at Nadia. "This is my specialty. You just need to be drunk and it will be just like getting Arthur ready for a formal event."

Well, other than the breasts.

"Thanks." Nadia resisted the urge to tug at his collar. "I thought guy's formal wear was supposed to be easy."

Walter looked down at her mostly finished dressing. "You didn't have to yank hair out of your legs, walk on stilts, or have someone attack your face with hot wax. I don't think you get to complain too much."

She reached out to straighten Nadia's collar for him and pulled his cuffs to straighten them. "Now. You look just as dashing as I expected."

"You've borne the torture well." Nadia smiled, reaching up to smooth Walter's hair. "And just think how much more prepared you will be the next time you have to butler for a girl."

Walter smiled back and bit her lip. This really wasn't right. Going to prom as friends and being distracted from emo and all those things, sure - but cute boy!Nadia?

Deep breaths.

"Right. Have we missed anything? You're dressed, I'm dressed. I've tried walking in these ridiculous shoes." She caught herself. "Pretty shoes! My hair's out of my face. Are we missing anything?"

Nadia grinned. "Just this," He leaned across the bed and grabbed the corsage he'd bought. He popped it out of the box and held it out.

"Perfect." And, unsurprisingly, it went perfectly with her dress. She slipped it on her wrist and looked around for the box with the boutonniere she'd picked up for Nadia.

"Here, let me put it on for you."

Nadia tried not to fidget as he presented his lapel for the boutineer. "You really do look good." Surprisingly enough, possibly as a side effect of the girlkissy in the pool, Nadia wasn't finding girl!Walter nearly as uninteresting as she had last time.

"Thank you," Walter got the boutonniere on with the ease of long practice and gave Nadia a final once over, straightening his lapel and tie one last time.

"I'm sure every couple there will be sure they're the best looking couple there." She grinned and shook her head. "But only we will be right about it. Shall we go?"

Nadia nodded and turned, offering Walter his arm. "To dinner, then?"
