Room 507, Saturday
Apr. 1st, 2006 04:38 pmNadia had been sticking to her room ever since what happened in the park yesterday. It was all just so crazy. She'd been an orphan for as long as she could remember, and then suddenly, out of the blue, she had a father. One who knew all about her and might be able to explain some of the things that had happened to her over the years.
If she trusted him.
She wanted, more than anything else, to trust him.
What did all this mean? Why did he find her now? Why hadn't he come for her when she'd been in jail, or when she'd run away from the orphanage, or, better yet, why wasn't he the one who had rescued her from the lab in Russia all those years ago?
She rolled over onto her stomach and stared out the window. Furrball jumped up on the bed and butted his head against her shoulder, and she absently scratched his head.
Finally, she made a decision. Arvin Sloane had said he was her father. Even if he wasn't, he seemed to care about her. She would be an idiot not to give him a chance. She picked up her phone and left him a message.
Then she rolled over onto her back again and stared at the ceiling.
What a weird weekend.
