Yes. Nadia was back on the roof of emo.

Yes. She had her guitar of emo.

So, it stood to reason, that she was playing a song of emo.

After her lunch, she was pretty sure at least one of her better friends was now mad at her. Though watching the movie with Blair and crew had been fun. But then she'd felt guilty about having fun at Blair's expense when she'd messed things up so much earlier in the week.

So. Roof. Guitar. Song. Emo

I never thought you were the letter writing type
so now I see the words you chose the way you write
so I started to write back about the apple trees and the snow monsters
and I saw a bird, couldn't say what it was but I thought you'd know
you always surprised me

And if I wrote You
If I wrote You
You would know me
and you would not write me again

And when the spring came and flooded all the streams
It's like how you got the night you told me all you dreams
And when the barn roof sagged after an icy bout
It's like how you shrugged when you knew the truth was the only way out
but not the only way

And if I wrote you
If I wrote you
You would know me
and you would not write me again

We drew our arms around the bastard sons
We never would drink to the chosen ones
Well you know the way I left was not the way I planned
But I thought the world needed love and a steady hand
so I'm steady now

And I'm so happy
I had to tell you
And I love you
And you will not write me again
You will not write me again
You will not write me again

After much of the day spent sleeping, Walter was restless. And itchy. He had a couple of sandwiches he'd thrown together and a bottle of water and had headed for the roof because you never knew who you'd find emoing up there.

When he opened the door to the roof and heard guitar, he assumed it would be one of two people.

He waited for a break in the music. "Hi."

"Do you mind if I join you?" he asked, already taking a spot nearby and pulling out a sandwich. "Want one?"

"Itchy." His stitches were driving him crazy. "Couldn't sleep, so I thought I'd get some air. How are you? And Lucas?"

"Stitches." That was awkward to explain. "There was an accident yesterday morning."

Subject chage? Oh, yes please. "How did Lucas return to human?"

"Strange." Walter took a bite of his sandwich and used the pause while he chewed to try to think of how to phrase that answer. "Victor had a new mutation come in yesterday morning. He sort of... molted, like a lizard and was suffocating in the shed skin."

He paused and scratched lightly at his arm. "The new mutation is very, very sharp claws."

Walter nodded. "Victor's learning control of the claws now. He didn't need many stitches."

"By the time I leave Fandom, I'm going to have an interesting way of telling stories. 'This scar is from robots. This one from my boyfriend. This one is from giant purple bunnies from outer space.'" He laughed and took another bite of sandwich.

"No. Maybe the muppet rats will stage a rebellion."

Let's try that subject change again.

"How have you been? No problems with Belthazor or teasing about the book-that-will-not-be-named?"

Walter stopped for a moment to assure himself that Nadia had been speaking English in the first part of that answer.

"He had Blair watch what? And what is 'the big O'?"

"Wait. Why would you tell me that Bel told Blair to watch the movie? Is it something bad?" Walter looked at her. "Are you having me on?"

Oh-kaay.

Oh.

Ohhhh.

"Right." Good sandwich. Wow, what an orgasmically good sandwich.

Change of subject!

Walter finished his sandwich and brushed off his hands. "Will you be staying here over the summer? I heard there is a summer camp."

"I'm trying to figure out how to convince Arthur to let me stay for the summer. I don't think I want to see what he's done while I've been gone." Speaking of the Big O. Ugh.

"Something like that. But he's hopeless. I go away and he uses the time to drink and... erm... hire company." Oh look, another sandwich.

"I'd been here just a few days when he sent me a letter saying I should think about going home because he couldn't find anything, but he's better than his brother, Richard. At least Arthur means well."

From: [identity profile] walter-n-wires.livejournal.com
"That's not going to happen. Hellsing's sort of outside the real world. And Arthur? Let's just say that having Count bloody Dracula a vampire at his beck and call hasn't really been good for his grasp of reality."

Date: 2006-03-25 08:46 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] walter-n-wires.livejournal.com
"Well, usually, but this one serves Hellsing. It's not really his choice, but he's made the best of it." So not going in depth about that without pushing.

From: [identity profile] walter-n-wires.livejournal.com
"Have you ever heard of a book by Bram Stoker called Dracula? Well, it isn't fiction, but Dracula didn't die. He was captured by Abraham van Helsing and bound to serve the van Helsing bloodline. He's used to hunt and destroy other vampires."

I've snogged him.

"Yes." He took another bite of sandwich. "He was my friend before I came here." Things kept going in uncomfortable directions.

"The Dracula. The one in the book with Mina and Lucy and Abraham van Helsing. Do you think the name 'Hellsing' is a coincidence?"

From: [identity profile] walter-n-wires.livejournal.com
"Yes. Do you want me to take you back to my room and show you a picture?" Yes, he still had the pictures. No, he wasn't going to get rid of them.

Walter looked at her dubiously, but nodded. "Okay. It was good seeing you. Good night."
