Room 507, Friday afternoon

Some might have said that Nadia was hiding in her room after her adventures with Bel.

They'd be entirely accurate.

She's got her music on really quietly while she watches Furrball chase his new mechanical mouse toy and tries to figure out how best to not get killed by a demon.

[ooc: for those in the know who want to come lecture Nadia on being an idiot and taunting the emo!demon]

Marty knocks on the door.

He's still covered in glitter.

He's not amused.

Nadia sighs, stalks over to the door, and pulls it open. "¿Qué?" Her eyes widened for a second when she saw who it was . . . and the state he was in. "¡Madre del dios, no usted!"

She quickly reshut the door.

Marty sighed. "Nadia? Open the door."

Marty paused for a second.

"I have your... bot thing."

Nadia opened the door and glared out at Marty. "It's not mine. It's Belthazor's."

"Well I could give it back to him... but I don't think he's the kind of guy who would appreciate a gift like this," Marty said pulling out the bot from his backpack. "And I'm not that really into glitter."

"Don't run with scissors!" Moral cried. It looked around.

"Boys don't cry?"

Nadia looked away from the now sad-looking bot.

"He wasn't supposed to appreciate it," she muttered.

Marty sighed.

"Nadia, what were you thinking when you hatched this plot? Belthazor is not a guy to mess around with," Marty said in a concerned tone.

Nadia bristled. "I know that. Veronica--" She slapped her hand over her mouth. She was trying to keep that part a secret; Veronica would kill her if she found out she'd done this because she thought she owed the girl.

Marty's eyebrows went up a little at Veronica's name and rubbed his forehead with his free hand as though he was getting a headache.

"Veronica told you what happened between her and Bel, huh?"

Nadia slumped slightly against the doorway, but she remained focused on her anger. "Yes. And I thought someone should do something about it."

"So you thought it be best to annoy a demon?" Marty asked. "Take it from someone who has failed many times before. You never win. If you're lucky? No one dies."

Marty held out Moral bot for Nadia to take.

"Veronica *did* do something about it. She told me and the rest of the I-Club about it. People know about it now and we're working together to make sure he doesn't hurt other people. Except for, y'know, the ones who like to tempt fate."

The last line is delivered lightly and with a trace of humor.

Too bad Nadia's not in so much of a humorous mood. She took Moral and held it somewhat like a teddy bear. "Oh? And what is your I-Club's great plan? Watch him? Maybe get together and talk a lot when he does something bad? How much . . ." she made an odd gesture with her hands while still holding Moral "finger wiggling have you people been doing? At least I was trying to help a friend out, okay?"

Moral gazed up at Marty glumly. "Just say no,"

"So Veronica almost gets killed twice and you think a little robot is going to solve the problem?" Marty asked calmly. "The I-Club may talk a lot, but at least we know what he's going to try next and have an idea of how we can stop him. Without glitter. Or becoming a scorch mark."

Nadia went pale. "Almost killed?!" She shook her head. "She just told me he tried to hurt her! If he's that dangerous, why is he still on campus?!"

"Make love, not war!" cried Moral.

Marty blinked and shook his head. "She left that part out, huh?"

Marty sighed and then cursed under his breath.

"Nadia... I don't know why he's still on campus. Veronica didn't tell anyone until last week and every time Bel tries something we are able to stop him but have problems nailing him for it. I appreciate you trying to play hero for Veronica's sake, but the last girl who tried it went up against Angelus and ended up dead.... because of me."

Nadia stared at Marty suspiciously for a long moment. "What do you mean, because of you?"

Moral started struggling. "Boys don't cry! Boys don't cry!" It kicked Nadia surprisingly sharply in the gut, causing her to drop it, and off it scurried for the stairs. "Boys don't cry!"

"Govno!" Nadia rubbed at her stomach as she watched the bot disappear down the stairs. "That's not good,"

"I got mixed with Angelus last term and almost got killed for it. Lockheed and his previous owner, a girl named Kitty Pryde, tried to rescue me. Angelus snapped her neck right in front of me," Marty replied. "Moral of the story? Don't be a hero where demons are concerned."

Marty nodded to the disappearing bot. "That better not be going after you-know-who."

"It doesn't really have anywhere else to go," Nadia said miserably (though she had a sneaking suspicion that Marty just hadn't been sneaky enough when handling demons previously). "It's imprinted on his image. Only the woman who made it can change that." She started down the hall. "I'd better go get it."

Marty swore under his breath and followed Nadia.

"This is not good."

Nadia gave him a side long look. "Oh? Gosh, I didn't notice, what with you yelling at me and the demon guy threatening me and everything,"

"That? That wasn't yelling," Marty said looking a little ticked off as he started moving down the hallway after Moral.

Nadia just rolled her eyes. "Whatever. I can find Moral on my own, you don't have to follow me."

"You want to be alone when Bel finds you?" Marty asked.

"I'm trying to stop it, now. If he's as careful as you say he is, not to get caught, he won't try anything."
